Following through with the initial idea based upon moustaches, I found that the moustaches alone in the books looked, on occasion quite unusual- and without being placed in context may look quite similar.
At this current stage in my project, I have started to illustrate portraits of the 100 famous moustachioed men from my initial list.
After scanning them into Adobe Illustrator, I removed any uneccessary blemishes such as smudges or tears, and used the live trace tool to transform them into vectors...
