Visual Language: Book Works.

The Brief: "3 words"/"i love you"/"ways to say i love you"

Based upon the subject of "the number 3" I began brainstorming several associations with the number 3, including:

-sequences
-"the odd one out"
-geometry/triangles
-"three's a crowd"
-three words (i love you)

Based upon several factors: personal interest, links to my subject, consumer interest and design, I have chosen to persue the idea of "three words"- creating a romantic guide of "ways to say i love you"- a translatory guide for travelling around the globe.

Considerations: Consider size and scale, colours, composition, etc.
Sizes available: A3- folded down to A5, or A4- folded down to A6.

For my design idea at the moment, I would like to create an A3 design, for complete advantage to utilise the larger surface area.

Target Audience: Romantics, young people, people that travel and interested in world languages, foreign exchange students.

Tone of Voice: wistful, playful.

Background: -explore langauges and translations.
Different types of typography and image- perhaps mapping countries? Look at cartography and other representations in design.

Mandatory Requirements: Edition of hot dog fold books.

Deliverables: Edition of ten hot dog fold books. A3-A5 double sided (poster on flip-side).

STUDIO DEADLINE: Tuesday 8th February 2011 studio deadline.
Tuesday 1st March 2011 final deadline.
