What is a line?: Hand-rendered type.

Creating hand-rendered type and experimenting for the production of my constellation and star-gazing guide. To reproduce a screenprint-like silver metallic ink, I chose to experiment with two silver pens:

1. Uniball Signo broad, 1.0mm (top image)
2. Pen-touch silver, 0.7mm (bottom image)

Overall, I preferred using the pen-touch, being a finer nib, I could create more acurate outlines when using the stencil, and felt that the paint-like ink gave a much greater coverage than the rollerball gel pen. I will go on to primarily use this in my designs- unless otherwise stated.

Stencils and pens purchased from Leeds College of Art and the Ryman store, Leeds.
