Design Production for Print//Colour Palette.

As I am finalising the research stage of my 'Design Production for Print' project, I am starting to consider possible features such as type and colour to be used in my design outcomes.
I went on the Adobe Kuler website to inspire colour palettes- knowing that I wanted to work with blues. From the one-week packaging brief, I felt that blue communicated Wes' work very well- on that occasion, quite specifically because of the nautical theme, however, blue is a consistently utilised colour throughout Wes' films- a connection with water, and the colour which most commonly is associated with coldness and isolation (an ongoing theme).
As I will be largely utilising duotone techniques in my designs, I feel that blue would add a great contemporary layer over the greyscale photographs, which would suit the subtle and sophisticated style of Wes' films.
A huge to-do list to still work through, I will experiment with these colour palettes and applying them to photographs and designs as soon as possible.

Experimenting with various blues as a duotone colouring for a portrait of Wes- perhaps to use as part of a poster design campaign or mailshot. I feel that the blue works particularly well here with Wes' posture- quite withdrawn and obviously isolated- the darker tones working more effectively to reflect the mood.
Definite need for experimentation within the next couple of days to start developing some outcome prototypes for next week- also utilising some of my own primary source photography images (to be researched and brainstormed in the next few days).
