YES.
Come up with a new, and somewhat more innovative design plan and progression for the branding and promotion of my Wes Anderson film festival. Considering creative and ambient media approaches, I wanted to inspire something more creative- reflective of Wes' work, and something to get people interested, inspired or intrigued- and, consequently, then going to the festival.
NAME: "OUTSIDE THE BOX" Wes Anderson Film Festival 2011
CONCEPT: The old cliche "outside the box" has never been more true for a director like Wes Anderson. Without formal education or cinematic training Wes himself is a great example of "thinking outside the box"... using creative influence to establish his own style- and not conforming by the mainstream rules. Often, Wes' films are regarded as self-indulgent, but they simply reflect on his own emotions and experience- not chasing the commercial route, "milking the cash cow", as I like to call it.
DELIVERY/DESIGN IMPACT: Designs will show a rostrum-style shot (as influenced and reflective of Wes' use of rostrum camera angles) of objects and trinkets from his films, which are commonly associated props or elements of character. Along with these there will literally appear a box, as if all items have emerged from them, and allowing to look inside the weird and wonderful box that is Wes' films, and mind.
This will also give way for conceptual design and interactivity with printed media- exploring unique folding methods and perforations to allow the "box" theme to continue- representing the opening of a box- again, connecting the theme as well as creating anticipating for contents inside, as well as aforementioned intrigue.
Best get doodling/planning...
Oh, and a new logo is in order.
