Communication is a virus: Descriptions and Tips- Pranks

Writing down the left-hand side pieces of information to communicate through our April Fools' practical joke guide...

The Banana Split

***/*****

DESCRIPTION: A truly appealing practical joke. Though plenty of practice and patience is required, it's worth it for this slice of humour.

TIPS: Practice makes perfect- test a few bananas before you perform the prank to get your slice just right.
Ensure the sides of your needle aren't too sharp as this may slice the skin and be a sneaky give-away for the suspicious "prankee".

Rude Awakening

****/*****

DESCRIPTION: Tick, tock, tick, tock- beat the clock! You have to be sneaky to execute this alarming prank.

TIPS: Be discreet- collect, set and hide alarm clocks when alone and free from suspicious glares.
Set the alarms off at regular intervals for full effect.
Works best for sloth-like sleepers.

A weighty issue

****/*****

DESCRIPTION: A clever trick to weight them down- they'll have to drink up to get up!

TIPS: Works best on gullable or competitive people- know your fool!
Most effective in a home enviroment- the fewer the people to help out the stranded "prankee" the better!

Faux Gateau

****/*****

DESCRIPTION: A sweet treat for the advanced practical joker- you have to be in the know to create this faux gateau.

TIPS: Master the art of cake decoration. The more realistic the cake, the more effective the fool.
The trick is most effective when played upon hungry, or greedy people.

Polystyrene Falls

***/*****

DESCRIPTION: Awake your neighbour with opening the door to a little surprise. Reserved for the particularly sneaky practical joker- this requires efficiency, speed and a great sense of humour.

TIPS: Try and be as quiet and discreet as possible- fast pace and accuracy is essential.
Double check the "prankee" is actaully in their room before performing the prank- or the joke's on you!

Money doesn't grow on pavements

***/*****

DESCRIPTION: A fool for the magpie-eyed. A potentially expensive trick, but rich in laughs.

TIPS: Try to be as discreet as possible. Don't let people see you glue the coin down.
Glue the coin in a reasonably noticeable area with many people- the more attempts to pick up the coin, the more effective the fool.

A kick in the bum

**/*****

DESCRIPTION: An easily effective and titter-inducing April Fool- they'll think this is a right kick in the bum!

TIPS: Again, practice makes perfect. Test this trick a few times to measure he solvent strength of your sticker/paper.
Try to be as subtle as possible. Ensure your sticker/paper is the same colour as the hair you place it on- camouflage is key!

Dope on a rope

**/*****

DESCRIPTION: Amaze and confuse awe-inspired crowds with this invisible rope fool. Bring friends along to help you out with great acting required for this creative trick, watch as people have their brain tied in knots!

TIPS: Try to be as naturalistic as possible with this one- if you go OTT people won't be fooled.
Bring along a couple of friends to act as rope- dodging stooges to get the fool rolling.

Water, water everywhere- and every drop to drink

*****/*****

DESCRIPTION: Drink up! You better hope they're thirsting for this brimming-with-laughs fool.

TIPS: Be as quiet as possible- you don't want to wake up the "prankee" early and give the game away.
Start from the furthest corner of the room and work your way back to the door. If not, you're at risk of getting soaked in water and the fool's on you!

The penny drops

***/*****

DESCRIPTION: A dirty joke for good clean fun -watch the laughs erupt as the penny drops!

TIPS: Be careful how you hold the penny so as not to give the game away. Hold it with your thumb and forefinger in the middle of the coin to avoid the messy edges!
Again, act as naturalistically as possible when performing this fool. Try to weave the prank into natural conversation so as not to appear too obvious.
