Communication is a Virus: Final Design Considerations.

When creating our final design- we had many considerations to question and disucss. We felt that our designs would be best suited to a print format- being easily read and portable for ~Fools' on the go~, and would be easier to read than it would be on screen (as people are usually more reluctant to read blocks of text on screen as oppossed to in book format- it's a voluntary choice).

 Considerations for the book:

-Size formatting: We chose A5 standard formating as this was easy to print (and therefore reproduce), clear, yet still possible to fit into a handbag or backpack.

-Number of pages: With 10 DPS we would need at least 20 pages, and around 5 extras for front and back covers, contents pages, etc. Aiming for around the 26 page mark (even for DPS).

-Stitch: For binding the book we had to consider the type of stitch- we felt pamphlet would be appropriate as it is therefore able to open fully and once again, be easy to reproduce (we have yet to bind our books- images up ASAP)

-Colours: 2 colours plus stock limitations. We decided to return to our original hex colours (that we had discussed using in the first week)- the orange and grey colours were a softer variation on the usual bold colours of red and black (plus stock) that are used in infographic designs. We have also used cartridge paper stock for the slight off-white colouring and textured feel.

-Star ratings: Very important in the explanation of our book and guiding through the April Fools' jokes- helps people to understand various factors including technical difficulty, creativity, time to plan, etc.

-Other methods of delivery: Posters, stickers and blog- all linking onto the designs. Posters to be handed out around the city, bound with stickers directing people to the blog- where they can find out more information, the totality of the April Fools' designs and also a place to leave comments and feedback- hopefully a place to gauge response and record the success of our project and product design.

-Presentational Posters: Concept, Content and Method of Delivery boards revised and refreshed for the last stage in our designs and developments- ready for presentation tomorrow morning.

-Powerpoint presentation: A series of slides (no more than 20) reviewing our work- how it has progressed and how ideas were generated- what our feelings of the project were, etc. Keep a visual consistency throughout the boards
