Researching broadcasting channels and scheduling on my chosen channel for broadcast, CBBC, yesterday, I decided the time most suitable for scheduling my 'Top ten things... you didn't know about penguins' (revised name- for programme- a little more telling of the subject matter and content) would be 5:00PM- the age range and target audience time that would suit according to existing programmes on the channel ('Tracey Beaker', 'Horrible Histories', etc). For the younger scale of the audience (5-8) this would be bedtime viewing, which the family could also enjoy, and the older range of the target audience (9-11), this would be a pre-evening meal programme which could either be watched with the family, or in order to entertain and educate children whilst parents return home from work/are cooking, etc.
The programme would be broadcast as a one-off animation special, shown on FRIDAY 3RD FEBRUARY (still winter time, fun treat for the weekend- not necessarily restricted by set bed/mealtimes).
