Inspired by the cursive, calligraphic type which I looked at for my 'I wish I could' type as image design, as posted on my Design Context blog, I went on to do a quick few design sketches as inspiration for my design development- working with varying weights of line, stroke embellishments, etc, just to get some ideas going. As the type as image design has to be worked from an existing typeface, I will be looking at Chopin Script Medium (again, as blogged on my Design Context blog) and looking at various ways to develop the typeface to create my own, unique design- largely inspired by fairytale book covers and traditional, hand-rendered, decorative drops cap designs.
