Design Practice II//Product/Range/Distribution//Contemporary serif type.

As part of the integral feedback from today's session, one of the key points was to revisit my body copy and to look at serif typefaces. From an initial experimentation, I was a little unsure about using serif type, as I felt it didn't suit the contemporary audience and the evolution of children's classics that I want to propose through the 200 Books 200 Schools promotion. Trying to balance my own personal design ambitions with the readability and visual communication of the book, I have decided to search for some more contemporary serif typefaces (screenshots shown above and below), the Lido STF which I think works quite well, in particular, and will go on to apply these to my body copy and see how well it suits the existing designs and illustrations throughout.
