Design Practice II//Product/Range/Distribution.



After today's feedback and crit session, I feel as though I got some really constructive comments, and need to look a great deal closer at my proposed problems, and how to resolve them, as well as focusing in on the finer details of the project. As a result, I have had an idea which in many respects, is quite a change from my original concept, so, will go on again to re-write my brief and concept rationale.


TARGET AUDIENCE


9-11 year old school children within the UK


CONCEPT SUMMARY


"200 books for 200 schools"


Promotional campaign to get children within the UK back to, and enjoying reading- where 200 books in 200 schools within the UK (to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the Grimm's Fairy Tales) will be distributed to children for free in reading promotion packs.


READING PROMOTION PACKS (CONTENTS)


-  1 x presentation folder (for contents)
- 1 x Grimm's Fairy Tale book
- 1 x Progress planner (space for both child and parent to write a personal diary about their thoughts about the book, key interests, etc)
- 1 x bookmark
- 1 x letter to parents (engage with the campaign)


OTHER PRODUCTS...


- Promotional posters for campaign (each with separate story/illustration?) for libraries, classrooms, etc.
- Audio books for library
- Ebooks/online publishing, brand Puffin website? (Mock ups for iPad/Kindle as well as PCs/Macs for schools)


AIM


- To encourage reading and engagement with literature.
- To encourage creativity and creative writing.
- To encourage parents to spend time with engaging and educational tasks and time with their children.
- To promote classic books to contemporary audiences (designing for 'Grimm's Fairy Tales', proposing other classics- 'Treasure Island', 'The Secret Garden', etc.)
