Written feedback and action plan from today's crit session as run and scheduled by tutor Lorraine.
Again, in our groups of six (the same groups which we were working in last week... Myself, Claudia, Kirsty, Beth, Ben and Sam), discussing our design developments, along with evidence of any printed design work, before splitting into groups of two and each giving written feedback about one another's work.
We were also encouraged to write down x3 questions we would specifically like answering, or gaining some feedback on, mine were:
- Are my products appropriate? (Proposed advertising, web info, reading pack for children?)
- Is the vector style effective, or should I return to laser cutting?
- Is the current concept of the 200 books/200 schools promotion clear enough? How could I make it clearer?
IMPORTANT FEEDBACK/NOTES
- Make the 200 Books/200 Schools concept clearer/snappier
- Vector style works well, only laser cut if there's time
- Paper cut sans (NOT closed face) works most effectively in terms of the younger audience (and being able to read the text easily)- Completely agree with this! Now I don't intend to (prioritise with) laser cutting, I do not need to worry about the loss of counters, and the open counter style is far easier to read.
ACTION PLAN/DATES
- Specify all of my range of products and make nets (12/05/12)
- Complete contextual research (blogging) (12/05/12)
- Finalise illustrativ and typographic designs (13/05/12)
- Complete Blurb booklet and send off for print (13/05/12)
- Apply designs to all of my products and print (15/05/12)
