Design Practice II//YCN Concept board presentation//Feedback.

Today, having printed out the design concept and development boards that I had put together yesterday evening, we went on to work in small groups of six (with three "group" pairs- working alongside Beth & Sarah as well as Lisa & Kirsty) to generate feedback and opinions from our work and the initial concepts and design developments that we have generated.
It felt like a great opportunity to discuss our ideas with others and air any concerns that we may have had with the project.
Two topics in particular were discussed- the use of vending machines (something I had talked about with Charlie yesterday...but still need to blog...) which was suggested to make more use and prominence of- and something that we will now certainly go on to push further, and also the use of colour. From the feedback given, the jade green didn't go down too well, and was suggested that it was too closely associated with doctor's scrubs and didn't look "natural" enough, which now, with hindsight, I completely agree with.
Initially, Charlie and I wanted to steer away from the over-used and dull olive greens, but a more vibrant, acidic green (such as "granny smith green") was suggested, and I will definitely go on to explore this further for the finalising rebranding and identity designs.
From this feedback session, I have developed a full, concise action plan for the next week to ensure that all our ideas are as solid as possible so we can progress onto the design developments and production stages to ensure that the craft and print is of the highest standard possible for the documentation and presentation for both the end of module outcome, and our submission to YCN (oh, and I've got a heck of a lot of blogging and research to catch up on too...).
