After meeting with Jessie earlier in the week, and approving the existing business card designs and the idea to use acetate as a stock material for the business cards, I went on to print a selection of test cards to measure the thickness of the inkjet acetate I'd obtained.
At 0.1mm thick, the stock felt slightly flimsy, but due to the nature of the plastic-base material, is very difficult to tear, so, in contrast to the flexibility, it is quite a strong material.
It'll be something to discuss with Jessie in our meeting next week, but I feel the material may be a little thin, and whilst appropriate for the planned letterhead designs, the stock that is used in the digital print facilities (currently awaiting delivery..) would be a more appropriate acetate thickness for the cards themselves (around 0.3-0.5mm).
Also, for variation and experimentation I would still like to go on to explore using other stocks such as perspex and coloured cellophanes/acetates (to emulate pricey coloured gels used in photography) as potential stocks to add colour and, again, a little more variation to the branding print and digital outcomes.
awesome design you have shared.thanks for it as i might need this when design for Plastic cards.
