What If...Networking Publications.

After a few days without close contact and discussion about developments within our project (darn snow days!) on Friday 3rd we had our first real intensive talk and discussion about where the project would take us- what we were trying to solve, and how we would solve it.

We had discussed that we wanted to promote unique areas of Leeds to people whom have little knowledge, or are new to the city- venues and areas they might not necessarily think to go, but with added charm and interest- the smaller events that can't afford the same amount of publicity as others, whilst still being specific and focused to specific requirements- organised by pricing, location, ease of accesibility within the city, etc.

Of course, there are many existing publications and tourist information guides in the city, most famously, 'Leeds Live It Love It''- a comprehensive guide, though, personally we felt that it wasn't particularly eye-catching, and also a little too broad in the audience it hopes to attract, we intend to ammend this.

As aforementioned, we intend to create a series of networking tools to advertise our "brand", which, we concluded to call "where the hell is leeds?" short, snappy, humourous, and, hopefully(!), memorable- and lets face it- i'm not the only one who would have trouble pointing to Leeds' EXACT location on a map!

Thinking about people's different perceptions and tastes, I created a quick mock-up image poster for opinions of nightclubs in Leeds, from various secondary sources published online- a potential idea for a "welcome" or mailshot pack- various reviews to summarise and help influence where you might want to spend your time in the city- could also be developed to other interests and leisure acitivites- pubs, restaurants, museums, theatres, cinemas, shopping centres, etc...

A quick idea for a logo design- undoubtedly to be changed, but relatively consistent with the ideas the group has generated thus far (pictures to come!).

The 'Where the Hell Is Leeds?' twitter page- a quick profile design and set up, with information consistent with the website design created by Alex. Here, I have used a subtle photographic background from a photo of Leeds in my primary source photography of the city- with faded cloud background.
Twitter will allow the group to give 140 character bursts- giving people all the information about what's going on in Leeds, and where.

Further design- this time creating a facebook group, where people can request memebership, and admin is led by myself and other members of the group. Like twitter, here we can easily update people on events and the best places to visit in the city.
As a group, we will continue working on networking tools- such as mailshots, posters, and I, personally, will go on to develop a stopmotion short, more details to come!...
