Experimenting with Lies, and Existing Examples of Notices.

The first thing we did this morning was to scour the university building for one of our notices (the 'due to unforseen financial circumstances, 80% of the mac computers will be replaced by PCs...) that Sadie had pinned up on noticeboards on Saturday.

Sadly, only three were still up- many being removed (see above!)- though we got a few funny comments...

"Where do macs belong- in a DESIGN school!"
"Do PCs run adobe software?"
"NO!" and
"Joke? Not a very convincing lie"

Darn...ratted out. The last comment was from a fellow graphic design student, so we learnt that we shouldn't place the posters in this proximity, as they may be aware of the briefing and solution we are attempting to undertake.

Creating a light-hearted design of more-than-usually-absent team member, Michael- just to get to grips with the ease of pinning posters around without getting noticed.
Also, we decided from the start for the posters and signage to particularly badly designed, and by no means design forward- looking quite natural among all the other quickly-printed yet seemingly "utterly important" notices.

A quick notice seen on the door to which a repairman was fixing some piping- could easily and quickly be changed to a poster for the opposite
"please close this door"...
now it's just a matter of being crafty and sneaky!

...The usual day to day notices you see around the builidng. Perhaps we could create hand drawn designs, looking very, very handmade and, therefore, quite realistic. Surprisingly eye-catching among all of the printed design- certainly stands out for being so different.

...Another funny sign I see a lot around the building (though I'm sure it's not intended to be)- quite similar to the Craig notes blogged on my design context blog, I like the half-rambling very literal writing in this note- feels very personal and informative- building up a sense of trust and humanity.
