My brief and written rationale for this week's Image brief, 'Book Works', in which the outcome delivery is to produce a book to be sold at the Leeds University 15th International Book Fair for either £5/£10, with a variety of subject matters to choose from- which must be derived from either a SHAPE, TYPEFACE, COLOUR, or SOUND.
As can be seen in my rationale, I decided to work with the colour YELLOW. A personal favourite (and undoubtedly inspired by the yellow cardigan I was wearing on the day of the briefing), and a subject matter in general, colour theory, that I am particularly interested in- specifically the psychology of colour and the mood and emotive background to colour, which, with a real interest in infographics and research-dependant design could work out really effectively graphically in terms of visual communication. Really excited to get started on this brief, which will hopefully provide a really strong basis and understanding not only for this project, but plenty of design solutions in the future.
